Stuck on splash screen

Out of the blue, my splash screen is stuck. No radio or Nav etc. I can’t access anything.

It’s a 2009 (59) facelift vogue. Anyone know how I can at least change the time and date for now?

I have never seen that on the facelift cars. On the older MOST system it would do this if one of the units went wrong and broke the fibre optic link. Often was the telephone module and taking out the two fibre cables and joining them in a drinks straw was enough to complete the circuit again and get off the splash screen.

I don't know if the newer system still uses fibre optics?

It’s got this. I’m told there’s supposed to be a red light visible but I can’t see anything

Yes there should be. The fact it is not red points to the circuit being incomplete

You really need a diagram of the flow of the circuit but you could try unplugging one by one to see the unit next in the circuit that does have a red light showing

The straw trick won't work as that connector has the in and out side by side

So when I unplugged it from the Bluetooth module I can see a red light in the module port. This flashes periodically so isn’t constantly on.
I bypassed it using a bypass plug from eBay but nothing happened.
I managed to unplug a further two units and did the same. Nothing.

I can’t unplug the top aluminium unit unless I remove it.
Having bypassed three out of five, I can’t see it being one of the other two.

Are there any fuses to check? 2010 MY Vogue SE TDV8 3.6 Stornoway Grey- fully loaded

I had exactly the same issue, and it was the tv tuner which is the aluminium box I think you are referring to. Getting it out wasn't as hard as it first looks. Just take a photo so you know where the various bolts go when you are reassembling it.
