Increase fuel consumption AJV8 (petrol)

My car used to deliver about 400 miles to a tank for a mixture of urban and extra urban usage. A faulty thermostat seemed to be affecting it and was replaced... however, it now continues to deliver about 300 miles to a tank or about 18 mpg as opposed to 24 mpg.

I did previously have running issues which were resolved with a clean of the MAF, however, the car does run a little rough on idle (occasionally) and I'm wondering whether the MAF might be underlying this increased consumption. I have run a check on icarsoft and nothing obvious pops up. Any thoughts? --------

My MPG dropped on my 4.4 M62 with no errors, but got better again after I serviced it and changed the fuel filter.

I'd also check for any sticking brakes, feel the hub caps after a bit of a drive to see if one of them is warmer than the others.
