This is a well discussed topic on the forum and a frustration for many new owners as you have something useful on the car that refuses to work as it should. I have the same frustrations as you: my FBH is fully functional but will not run long enough to actually heat the cabin. In fact it has only ever done this once which was immediately after I installed a new AGM battery.

When I purchased my 2011 4.4 TDV8, mine also hadn't functioned for several years, however the previous owner thankfully told me the issue so I could sort it.

@GaryRR: great tip. An additional check is that you can hear the pump ticking from within the cabin when it is working. I can hear mine within a few mins of starting the car on cold days regardless of if the cabin heater has been set on or not. I think this is to do with getting the engine heating up to temperature more quickly in cold conditions. TDV8 4.4 2012 |

Might want to try this "bridging" as a check

Thanks to all who replied. I'll let you know how I progress with this, I don't have the IID tool I'm afraid hence me trying to disconnect the air sensor into default mode. As soon as I get time, I will have a look in the wheel arch and see what I can find.

Could be the small coolant pump that is bolted to the actual FBH itself.
