Advise please, blower fans failed today, ran flat out yesterday and nothing today, checked fuses there ok, I've pulled the FSR which looks after market Sitronic, question can i still drive the car without it there or is it best to plug it back in and leave it dangling while awaiting a replacement. Any recommendations on where to order a replacement, phoned a main dealer and the want £145 trade, I'm thinking Advanced Factors.

I fitted a Meyle 314 880 0000 to my 2012 model about 3 years ago and it’s been fine. It is specifically for BMW X3/5 but is identical to the JLR part they cost about £36. 2012 tdv8 Westminster arrived Jan 19 gone Dec 23

Hi V8, thanks for the feed back have read some of the other FSR post and the Meyle 314 880 0000 pops up a few times, so have ordered one £39 including postage, thanks for your advise.

When replacing the FSR (Hedgehog).
Check the connecting plug for a tight fit to the FSR.
The (5) sleeves can open up causing irregular connection.
The awkward location of the FSR does not help. Forty years of progress. 1972-2012

Fitted the new Meyle 314 880 0000 FSR and has made no difference, still no fan, have checked the 5 pin connector and have 13.8V with ignition on, so guess the fan is goosed, any other recommendations before i order a new fan unit, not looking forward to stripping out the dash to get at the fan.
