Transmission fault - reduced traction - 2006 4.2 S/C

Has anyone had this happen to them? Apparently it is the motor in the rear diff failing? It doesn't look like a code is being stored yet....what other symptoms would I expect if the rear diff was not locking properly? Thanks

I had this once many moons ago when the battery was low after leaving the doors open.

After the battery topped up after a drive it's never come back.

I don't think we have any electronic diff control on the 06 S/C, that came in from 07. 2006 L322 Vogue SE 4.2
