2012 Range Rover Vogue 4.4 V8 Orkney Grey

High beam LED and MOT

Fitted these a while back and they are fantastic at illuminating dark country lanes but technicaly they won't pass an MOT but has anyone had an actual fail because of them? 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

I think most MOT stations won't care, however I have previously had a car fail due to LED bulbs in incandescent fittings. 2015 Range Rover Autobiography 4.4 SDV8

Some MOT testers are more lenient than others. High beam and low beam are quite often different in how they're approached, and whether or not they're fitted within a projector or a reflector housing. A mate of mine is a tester and is certainly one of the more pragmatic ones, if not actually massively lenient. However, even he would fail an LED in a reflector housing. As long as it's not obvious (i.e it's in a projector housing) and especially if it's high beam, I can't see anyone but the most yellow jacketed power tripping tester to have any issue.

Passed with no issues here. Old ones in the boot on the day in case needed to swap out Gone to a good home: 2011 4.4 TDV8 Vogue SE Buckingham Blue with Ivory and clear glass = "Rory"

Same as you recommended a while back I think

I've got the old ones in the boot and may just pop them back in to avoid the (small) risk of a retest and another £12.50 ULEZ trip back to the garage.... 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)
