May well be 'old' diesel in the pipe, did you turn it off or did it clear after a while?

Thanks for the advice. I turned it off straight away but thought about terying it again later. It was a shock to the system at the time ! |

If it doesn't clear within 2-3 mins, I'd suggest turning it off and having it looked at - are you sure it was diesel smoke & not just water vapour? they can belt out a fair bit of water vapour drying out the combustion chamber, exhaust & silencer. There must have been combustion detected for it to keep going and not shutdown by itself. |

It was unburnt diesel alright, stank to high heavans and was thinking the neighbours would call the fire brigade ! lol |

My L322 did this when I first had it, I was cleaning it and temp was low. I had to move the car to let a friend out the drive and when I shut it off smoke everywhere I thought it was on fire!!

My car still randomly smokes from the FBH. It's exhaust pipe gets very hot when it does work.
