2018 Range Rover SVAutobiography 5.0 SC V8 Santorini Black

I would suggest you push back. It's a 90 minute software update and my dealer has 'fitted me in' when I pushed back a solution was required. Ultimately if it faults, the car is no longer roadworthy in the eyes of the law and the vehicle would be recovered into them and thus cause more of a headache.

With dark nights coming in they need to be on top of this else they will have flatbeds rolling in with L460s recovered as the headlights gave up on the road at night. MY23 PHEV HSE

United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover HSE 2.0 PHEV Corris Grey

I have had this fault twice in the new car as discussed in another thread.

The first time was the same day I drove the car off the forecourt and the call out chap just took out the fuse and it all reset but he was about 90 mins on my drive.

The second time a few months later the call out chap had a special device that took 10 mins to fix. He knew exactly what to do as it was a recognised issue by then and his device seemed to fix it.

What I need to know is was the second visit the proper fix for the recall.

I've just received the N810 letter too so i guess I could assume its not been fixed, or that the database was not updated after my second "fix".

If you have not had it done I recommend you get on with it as its a right pain when it goes. The whole headlight assembly dies and the remaining indicators go wild.

I know how others feel about this: the entire front nearside digital headlamp unit on my P440e HSE failed not once, but twice, within a month of ownership in May this year. The first time, the dealer did a re-set, and told me the problem was fixed and it was just a matter of loose wiring. The headlamp then failed a second time within the following ten days and a different, highly reputable, north-west London dealer replaced the entire headlamp unit without further delay, and the problem was resolved! Thank goodness it was a warranty replacement because the dealer told me that, including labour and VAT, I'd otherwise have incurred a bill exceeding £4.3k!!

I continue to have problems with the so-called intelligent digital headlamps either idiosyncratically going from adaptive to dipped or, worse, going on to full beam and blinding oncoming traffic. These useless, expensive headlamps seem to be completely workshy. When I've asked the dealer how to correct the fault, I've been told there's no workaround.

Baffling!

are you being flashed by other drivers?

I setup an experiment with my Digital lights as was convinced I was glaring other drivers. I stood the car on a long stretch of drive and took my other car to the other and drove towards it a few times to it, I wasn't blinded or dazzled. The high beam effect remains on and it digitally mapped the beam around my moving figure. It was very disconcerting driving at first I kept trying to flick in and out of high beam. MY23 PHEV HSE

I'm embarrassed to say that I do, regularly, get flashed by other motorists when my errant headlamps go from adaptive to adaptive+full beam. You have to be watching the dashboard vigilantly to spot when the headlamps decide to go AWOL, which rather negates the point of having the heads-up display. The most cringe-making moment was when I got pulled over near Datchet, Old Windsor by traffic cops a month ago, who demanded to know why I was driving along a winding, narrow road at night on full beam. Amazingly, I persuaded them it was the brilliance of JLR and its products (or, rather, lack thereof), rather than my own selfishness/stupidity ...

Oh Dear

I'm in a Defender 110 Loaner at the moment (Again) it has the matrix lights I much prefer them to the digital ones. MY23 PHEV HSE

Not so upset now that my MY24 HSE has been down graded to matrix LED from digital LED. I had been considering paying the £1000 option premium.

Knowing what I know now I wouldn’t pay extra over LED matrix. If the range rovers LED offering is like the 110s it’s very good. MY23 PHEV HSE

For the rear lights, it’s only some cars that are affected. So it’s a check.
You MUST check to see they have access to a spare before they take you off the road, They are running short.
In all probability they will also remove a small sponge, check to see if this is still an instruction. Gets wet and sits on a joint in the wire within the unit. Filters are in fact so good that in certain circumstances, when the ambient air is already polluted, a diesel car will tend to extract more particles from the air than it emits. Emissions Analytics worked with........etc etc

He who dies with the most toys wins...

Good to see the LR obsession with putting open-cell foam where it gets wet hasn’t gone away…

I see the papers today are saying that there is at least a 6 weeks delay in parts for most LR cars. They are running out of courtesy cars at dealerships.

Andrew Wooliscroft who is the "Client Care Director" has reportedly told a dealer Summit meeting at the Motor Museum that.... " We've run out of space to park the cars waiting on parts" I presume he means at Solihull.

Not good news if you have a car waiting for repair under warranty. All LR cars from 1984
