I’ve just put a deposit on a 2013 Vogue SE with 86k miles.

Can anyone recommend any companies for warranties?

And is there any preventative maintenance I should be doing at that mileage ? Diff and transfer box oil every 30k I believe?

Anything else I should look out for?

As for warranties, I've not had good experience of them, I do have an Autoguard warranty that came with this latest car, thankfully I've not had cause to use it to date so I can't say whether it's any good, but it promises much.

As for other's I'll defer to the forum as they'll have seen them all.

Do your own research but I couldn't find one that covered anything much on a car of this age, they all have great promises but when you see the list of excluded items it didn't seem to me to be worth it...

Indeed the only thing that failed on mine in the first year of ownership was the ACE pipes rusted through and they aren't covered...

Most use 60,000 miles as gearbox, transfer and diffs oil change, personally I change all the fluids on a new to me car...

Underbody rust treatment should be on the list as well... lots of bare steel under there....  Pete

I looked at all the warranties and all the exclusions.

I self insured and reckon I have saved about £500 over the chepest warranty I could find, that doubtless wouldn't have paid out anyway.

Change all fluids as recommended already.

I am due to pick up my first RR tomorrow.

I’ve just been looking at the service schedule online. There’s not much to the annual/16k service other than engine oil/filter and a few filter changes! I was amazed, it is mostly checking stuff. The big one appears to be 80k/or 5 yrs for diff oil, transfer case etc…

Good to know, so i definitely won’t bother with dealer servicing!
