Hi All,

A likely long shot I know but if any one is selling a working remote heater fob for a 2012 Westminster, I would be very interested. Part number LR027493

Kind Regards

I bought one of the older versions for mine but I needed a new one. Hence I haven't had it working but yours for a reasonable offer. I'll post a pic shortly if you are interested. First time FFRR owner

You will need the one with the text “On” and “Off” I believe. The others won’t work, in case you didn’t know.

Hi,

Check the receiver in the boot, behing the right access panel, it's the inverted module rearmost.

What you need is the model number, if it's T91 or T91R then I have a used one.

They're not cheap, I recently sold 2 for over £100 each on EBAY, I was trying to figure out how to replace the worn off lettering, but it seems it's laser etched, I ve a new battery for it as well.

Works fine, I've paired it to my car to prove it. I'm in Gloucester, PM me with a sensible offer, as part of the sale I'll pair it to your car if you bring it over.

Cheers

Hi All,

Many thanks for the quick and helpful offers! As it has turned out, I picked up my Ff today and the previous owner had found the heater fob prior to my arrival.

It appears to have a flat battery so have ordered another. If it turns out it has a fault and isn’t in fact a faulty battery, I will certainly let those who have items for sale know.

Many thanks

Daz

Hi,

No worries at all Daz, it's just sat in a drawer.

I might get around to putting on EBAY some time.

Cheers

Kind Regards

Hi,

If the remote is not from the original car then it'll need pairing once you replace the battery, the process below if you didn't know already.

Cheers, Andy

To pair the remote control to your receiver you’ll need to access the receiver in the boot of the car to do the pairing so clear out the boot right side and remove the access panel before you start..

Before you begin, you’ll need to have at least a quarter tank of fuel and a fully charged battery, (the system will not initiate if either is low).

The below is a combination of what I’ve got from Land Rover and my own experience and only covers the pairing of the remote control, it assumes your “timed climate system” is otherwise working as it should.

Turn on the car ignition and leave it on.

At the receiver in the boot, remove the connector that carries the power, i.e. it’s a 4 or 5 pin flat connector, but be careful as this is delicate, don’t tug the wires.

Once removed this will delete any pairing of any earlier remote controls the car may have had in the past..

Wait approx. 10 seconds and refit the connector to the receiver.

On the heater remote, hold the right, “Off” button down for 5 seconds, LED should flicker, but don’t panic if it doesn’t.

That should be that remote now paired to the receiver.

Close the boot and jump in the driver’s seat, ensure all the doors closed.

Turn off the ignition, wait for 5 seconds, turn it back on again, hopefully that has now saved the pairing to the system.

Set the centre console left main AC switch to “On” and the centre knob AC main switch to “auto” i.e. both orange LEDs on in the centre button.

Turn off the ignition, stay inside and lock the car with the normal key remote. (not the locking switch in the car).

Once the car is completely dead, say after 30 seconds hold down the heater remote “On” key for 3 to 5 seconds, the LED on the remote should go green.

The round LED on the main AC panel centre knob should now begin to flash slowly and you should hear a small fan running in the background, if so, press “Off” on the remote and skip next step as it’s working fine.

If it didn’t work, go back to step 1, it usually fails on the 1st attempt in my experience.

If it worked, exit the car, lock it and try the remote “On” step from say 10 feet away, then approach the car, you should see the orange LED on the centre console flashing through the window and hear the heater fan running.

If all good then you’re done, the remote usually works up to about 20 feet away. Fuji White 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westmiinster

Hi Andy,

Yes apparently the fob is the one that came with the vehicle.

If however it does need to be setup, I will use your instructions below. Many thanks for that 😀

Cheers

Hi,

Daz was 1st in the queue, so if he doesn't want it I'll let it go within the forum for £125 with a new battery inc postage.

@ Daz, is yours OK, or you still need a replacement ?

Cheers

No problem Andy, I don't own an L322 just yet anyway. Most of the ones i have looked at are missing the fob!

Hi,

Yeah, it's a long standing LR joke, all the functionality is in all the late model diesels to meet emission regs and Land Rover would happily sell you the remote for like £250+ if I recall.

Even when I got mine and went to LR, they gave me a long list of stuff I should buy for the feature, but my indie confirmed that if you're got the receiver in the boot and the timed heater function works then it's already fitted.

Petrols on the other hand are a bit more hit and miss as not all were fitted as standard, but same as above applies, timed climate availabe, receiver in boot, good to go.

But the remotes are not easy to find, you can still find new about occasionally, but very pricy, remotes tend to get lost as they're so small, about half the size of the key remote.

I fixed a few which is why I had some, but this is my last of the ones I have.

Cheers

Hi Andy,

My remote fob battery arrived today and I can confirm that both the fob and heater work perfectly. Many thanks for offering me first dibs on your spare fob but I am all sorted now.

I will update this thread to that effect.

Thank you again for all of your help . It is much appreciated 👍

Daz
