High Lift Wheel Ramps or Cribs

Hi,

Has anone any experience or using high lift cribs (American Term) which are like next level ramps, sometimes stackable ? I can only find HD ramps that will lift by about 20cm

Apparently you jack up to one level, slip your cribs in, put wood sleepers under your jack and then jack up to the next level, insert crib tops. Seems they can take 3000lb & 30cm+ lift but they're really quite expensive and cant find these in the UK

Examples below or just search google images for car lift cribs

I made myself 4 of these wooden versions for my Audi but am nervous about using them with the weight of fatty. They're 30cm long, 19cm high and 18mm marine ply. Cheap, very solid and easily packed away, not sure if they'll take 2 tonnes though.

Anybody any thoughts on possible sources of strong "cribs" in the UK ?

You could always fill the gaps with more timber so that they are more or less solid.

They look good but is 1368kg sufficient for lifting the front end? Kevin

Thanks All, I'll keep looking around, I think I'll go for Rhino ramps, they seem to have a good rep

My solution was a few 6 foot long sleepers and a bit of time cutting at an angle with my chainsaw.
I made some long ‘ramps’ and some shorter ones which can go on top of the long ones to lift even higher off the ground.
The sleepers are 200mm wide so with 255 tyres you need to take time to position the car centrally. Oil changes were a doddle.
(Not my idea - I got it from another member of the forum). 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀

Check out YouTube for the construction of the Cribs. Many different approaches and capacity.
