Belt replacement

To the collective wisdom of you all - I have noisy pulleys/belts…. I am looking to have the aux belt replaced as well as pulleys etc.

My question is - whilst this is out to be replaced, what else would be worth replacing in the same location?

Any advice would be massively appreciated! 2007 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8

Water pumps cheap enough to do at same time imo, alternator if you want to throw another 150 quid at it, depending on whether changed before and mileage.

Peace of mind

I thought that would be a good choice! Thanks for the confirmation! Has anybody attempted this themselves? Would be keen to hear! 2007 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8

I haven’t changed a water pump on a 3.6, only on the 4.4 petrol V8 but I should imagine it’s pretty straightforward. If you do the alternator I would advise that you get a Denso. I bought an RTX from Euro Crap Parts and it didn’t fit. The hardest part for me was getting the plug out of the back of the alternator as it had been in for so long. I was able to use my neighbour’s pit so access was easier - I wouldn’t have wanted to do the job on the garage floor but others on here have done so. There is an excellent guide in the Wiki which helped a lot. 2017 Jaguar F Pace 25t Portfolio - still part of the JLR family 😀

Thanks for the info - this is really helpful! I have the car booked in this week for water pump, aux belt and pulleys/tensioner etc.

If anybody can think of anything else to change whilst they're in there please let me know! 2007 Range Rover Vogue 3.6 TDV8
