Rubberised trim finish is a royal PITA

It just doesn’t wear well. And when it wears though in some places, it detracts from an otherwise high quality interior.

Steering wheel spokes: I scraped it all off and it looks much better

Window switch surrounds: not badly worn but not perfect. Piano black covers would look great but can’t find any online. Undecided about what to do.

Lidded storage pot in centre armrest unit: the finish on the lid was badly worn and the retaining ring had split in two places. I removed and dismantled it and scraped off all the finish. I’ve just glued up the retaining ring and haven’t yet decided what to do as a finish. It feels like it needs something but I don’t know what. Any suggestions?
