How Do I Know If Active Damping Is Working ?

Hi,

I'm getting the impression that the ride on my L322 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westie is not as smooth and wafty as it used to be and there doesn't appear to be any difference in ride between normal and sport mode and I'm pretty sure there used to be.

I'm wondering if the active dampers are active all the time. I've heard that you should occasionally calibrate the ride, but I don't have the tools to be honest.

Is there anything I can do to confirm my suspicions, i.e. pop a breaker to disable active ride control to see if it is the case that the stiffer dampers are kicking in when they should be in wafting mode or if it's all in my mind.

Sport mode is just the gearbox program. Pull a connector off the top of a strut and the system will be disabled and go full hard 2012 TDV8 Vogue (L322)

Hi JayGee, OK, I'll give that a go, so it defaults to hard, thanks

If it's not working it'll feel like driving a series leafer suspension wise , wire snapped on mine a few years ago on top of A66 (you also get a warning on dash) 120 miles towing a tonne and half of caravan to Scotland and you know about it , make you feel sick and rattles your fillings out , set up caravan , remove top of strut and twist wires together , sorted till holiday over and can fix it properly at home .(had tools for MTB so torx bits with me )
