Avin a Giraffe!

Rant:

I want a mk2 Espace - stop laughing! I want it as a 3rd car to use for collecting and delivering furniture, appliances, garden crap etc. But I also want Automatic, Air Con, Air Suspension (was on the rear on top models) and leccy windows etc. So I don’t want a van.

I also only want to pay upto £500

I saw an absolute piece of crap at a kerbside motors locally, ex taxi with a 2 foot rusty steel plate silicon sealed onto the roof to cover the hole up. Cracked windscreen and 200,000 miles!

He wanted £2000 for it, I was shocked I asked him to check. Yes, sure enough, he wanted 2k for it. 2000 of whole English pounds! Sterling!

Moral of the story is that every £500 car is now worth 2k because of the stupid gvmnt scrappage scheme.

What about a trailer? No Tax/MOT/insurance/repairs and the Rangie should pull at least a little one Whistle FF RR S/C (Gone)

As Ivan says, a RR with a trailer seems to do all the above (in bold) Very Happy without extra the running costs, maintenance or hassle. Also easier to store. If you only need it occasionally, I'd even consider hiring a trailer when you need it rather than storing it etc. At least you always get the right type of trailer for the job in hand.

Why not go for a tatty old Disco instead of the Espace? Similar load space (may have higher payload capacity) all the mod cons and you can take it offroading without having to worry about the paintwork on the Rangie Smile

Espace Vs Disco:

£500 to buy vs £1500
Things might work in the Espace, but definately wont in the Disco
RETARDED rear door on the Disco, can prop it open on the espace.

Plus we already have a 1996 crap disco that leaks water all over the place, is mouldy inside and stinks etc etc, but that's the o/h's baby until it finally dies. Although not starting in the car park today edged it further to ebay!

I'm doing an additional 200 miles a week I dont really want to stick on the RR, an espace I could abandon in a public car park until I need it etc.

In reality LR products are as we all know, expensive to buy, run and maintain! So a throw away espace seems a bargain....

There are stacks out there sub £500 but none on the door step, this was on the way to work so would have been handy. I dont mind getting one from further away, but is a pita if its a Censored heap etc.
