Aftermarket armrest adjuster knobs

I’m looking at the Autobiography style armrest adjusters available on Ali Express, eBay and Powerfuluk and it’s unclear which knobs fit which models. The L322 2002-2009 isn’t mentioned anywhere except on Powerfuluk yet their offering looks identical to many others.

As far as I can tell, there are only two types of aftermarket fitment; one has a long shaft and the other is stubby. I’ve attached photos to show the difference.

It seems to me that the long shaft version is the L322 fitment and that it should fit all models from 2002-2009. And possibly later models too.

Does anyone have experience with these to either confirm or correct my assumption? I’d appreciate it and I’m sure others would too. Thank you.

Hi,
I fitted the Powerful Uk (RRH345) ones to my armrests (07 4.2 SC). I think the shafts are long ones. It took about 2-3 minutes a side to fit and I am very pleased with how they look, 10/10.

ive got the longer type in the pictures above, on my 2012 and they look great... but its (almost) the only chrome inside the cabin, so its not like a magpie's nest in there.

Thank you all for your replies.

@cam-tech-craig, the two different fittings are interchangeable? I didn’t think of that possibility. But I’m not putting it to the test…I’m going for the long ones!

I’ll update here with my findings. Des

Took the picture this morning
NB:A short spindle one would not fit, the clip registration is too far down in the arm.

Thank you Strider, that sounds logical. I haven't ordered mine yet as I'm away this weekend and didn't want a delivery made in my absence. But I'm going to order the long shaft version when I'm back and will update with my findings. Des

Finally got around to ordering and fitting my adjuster knobs.

I ordered the long shaft version at a cost of £26 incl delivery. Fitted just now in under 15 mins. I think they look great and are far easier to use than the plastic ones.

Hi, You know, I don't like them to be honest, it smacks of trying to hard, very American approach to over chaving everything, risks looking like a Halfords shop.

The originals, although not the most convenient to use are more discreet and I don't have any problem with them at all.

If you look at the wide angle view, they're obviously an afterthought and would never pass muster in the "Range Rover Classiness Debate" and to me I think they'd annoy me endlessly by being in the way all the time.

Sorry, you've spent all that money, as long as your happy and I'm sure you'll rip me a new one, but they're just a bit too Liberace for me.

I think their own promo picture is just highlighting their kitsch and in 6 months time you'll probably have ripped them out.

Yes, you do need a new arsehole lol. Mine doesn’t look anything like that. It’s an Autobography replica adjuster so at some point it passed the Land Rover classiness challenge. It certainly passes mine for the reasons I’ve given. You stick to your plastic ones and we’ll both be happy. Des

I was tempted to get these. Very cheap from Ali express or even powerful uk. Im so glad I didn't
Ive got a 2011 tdv8 4.4 in Galway green (the late Queens colour).and saw one with these together with loads of chrome add ons.
So glad I left the discreet originals. Just my opinion.

you can always spray them satin black... and have the easy usefulness of them, but more discreet,.

Anybody perhaps got 2 short ones going spare? I ordered two long ones (not realising there were 2 types) and they don’t fit Big Cry “If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” -where’s the fun in that?

I must be doing this FFRR ownership thing wrong.

I adjusted my armrests back in January last year when I bought the car and haven't needed to touch the knobs again in the last 30K miles so their slight fiddliness has never been an issue. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.
