L405 to L460 complete facelift conversion Alibaba anyone?

I’m thinking of pulling the trigger. The costs are 4000-6000 usd with one instagrammer quoting 10k usd. But alibaba is around 5k including shipping.

Come on mates? Your thoughts? You are required to conduct surgery…plus there are at least 3 different conversions…front, front rear, front and different rear.

Hi, the rear definately the funkier part of this.

I'm not sure on the door handles to be honest, I prefer the grab handles, they feel more solid, the pop out ones seem a bit flimsy on the showroom models and I'm sure with use they'll start to rattle, who knows with these aftermarket versions and how long those motors/actuators will last before they give up and then your in a real pickle.

The front, apart from the thinner lights I think apart from retrimming in satin black for the lower splitter area and valance you'd be hard pressed to tell unless side by side. Similar with the side, unless you knew it's just trim and that can be simulated by clever shading.

But the rear, definately, but it looks like quite a bit of metalwork required.

I like the idea of the new Defender rear light group hidden under a tinted cover on my L322, can picture it in my mind. Well there's not much else in there to fill up the space since I gave up vodka. Fuji White 2012 4.4 TDV8 Westmiinster

Admirable for sure and I guess innovative. But personally I'd feel like I wasn't fooling anybody. I'd put the cost of the conversion into he bank and keep saving for a proper L460.

Each to his own though! Thumbs Up FFRR SDV8 Autobiography

Is this a DIY mod I can do in the rain on the drive Rolling with laughter

I have to add that the rear lights on the L460 are every boy racers dream (by that I mean anyone who has blacked out their lights) because these on the new RR do it spectacularly well. Geoff

Let's assume it's 10K by the time all fitted and painted.

10K to make a 405 look a bit like a 460 but only to people who don't know the difference.

Each to their own, but it's just an extreme version of upbadging to me. It's not like it's trying to be unique by modifying to a specific taste, it's trying to dress up one thing as another, more expensive and newer, thing.

Seems like a complete waste of money, especially when you factor in that it's likely to be more difficult to sell on in future, and that these kinds of conversions never look quite 'right' up close. 2012 (L322) 4.4TDV8 Vogue SE, RSE, Fuji White over Arabica.

Yes, a bit more involved than face lifting an early L322 to late L322…. But it would be unique.

I had a panic attack removing the mirror caps and replacing my indicators with sweep style ones. This looks like open heart surgery, with a small chance of survival.
Having said that i'd be mightily impressed if you pulled this off.

I suppose there’s Overfinch and Urban. So the concept exists.

Is the plan to DIY?
