Afternoon all, just joined after lurking as a visitor for some months!

Bought myself my first RR after years of VAG group cars

It’s a late L322, Galway over Ivory 4.4 TDV8 Vogue - I was ideally after a VSE but this colour combo was the dream spec so a compromise was made.

I’ll post some pictures when I take delivery but will be on the hunt for a Gap iid and a few parts - it looks like I’m in the right place for emotional support along the way!

It’s been a long time coming as I’ve always wanted this colour combo.

First job on the list was to give the ivory leather a good old scrub… here are the results!

Galway is also a beautiful county to visit in Ireland. Not only is the scenery great but the vibe in the city is like no other!!

So a great Colour and a great city, where could you go wrong  Current yokes

So a quick weekend update:

I bought this car knowing that the following needed addressing:

1. Rear camera inoperable - since found the rear camera to be full of water and board damaged, replacement ordered
2. Parking sensor fault - Starts up but then detects fault, no water at module so hoping it’s a sensor, I’ll scan it when I get an IID
3. Blistering tailgate - looks too far gone to me, so hoping to land on a Galway breaker at some point
4. Blistering rear arches - I will attack these myself depending on how far the corrosion has spread

I’ve also found the following since purchase:

1. The start of an oil leak from the oil feed pipe/cooler - I intend to replace both oil cooler gaskets and turbo oil feed O rings. If I find mixing of fluids (no evidence yet) I’ll replace the cooler too
2. Tailgate glass edge trims corroding heavily - I’ve removed these and will probably end up replacing with new parts
3. Occasional Yellow RP warning on start up (off/on clears it) - checked donut hoses, plenum etc for leaks - only leak was on the TB connection so will install the 3x75mm o rings to sort this. Also lubed up the CSOV just as preventative maintenance. Again, the GAP IID will help here.

So I’m on the hunt for a Gap IID to help diagnose some of the above, and beyond that, my plans are to maintain, and enjoy. I intend to carry out the following:

Full service
Transmission flush service
Transfer box & diff oil changes

I’ve also made a slight cosmetic change, as the car came with original optioned chrome mirror covers, not to my taste, so I’ve fitted gloss black covers for now, with a view to colour coding them Galway green at a later date.

Watch out for mobile speed cameras on the 50mph section at Colwyn Bay, I’ve seen them tucked up the slipways twice this week, they must be short of cash,
