United Kingdom 2011 Range Rover Vogue TDV8 Santorini Black

the 24mm was amazon and its unavailable now on amazon which is annoying

it was this

https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0CQHPVF3Y?psc...ct_details

if you'd like, you can just come borrow my kit. you'd need an M16 x 2.0 threaded bar but thats about it.

i have a ton of m16 nuts handy as well that go with it. Its actually a sport Sad

the M16 bolts/nuts turned up for the upper control arm bushes, problem is they won't fit the pre-existing holes in the subframe and I really don't want to drill them out because thats just a ridic thing to do imo

at this point am unsure whether to speak to AF and get the other fitment and hope they aren't M16 bolts as well or just use M14 bolts anyway? Its actually a sport Sad

Are your back plates rusted away where the brake shoe hold down pins locate? Is this why you want to replace them?

I had the same problem earlier this year - no stock of the 2010 - 2012 brake back plates anywhere. And the pre 2010 don’t fit, they are too small to go over the later larger brake disc.

In the end and after research on the forum I found a useful work around using the old type brake shoe hold down washers on the back of the back plate. I filed a round hole approx 5mm in the back for the depression in the hold down washer to sit in so as not to over tension the hold spring. I works great. Handbrake operation is perfect. Not ideal but it works.

managed to get some range rover oem bushes for the top arms from left over stock, £150 for 4 which nis a steal compared to LR with £120 for 1, replaced all those.

i noticed the none stock one needed pressing the whole way while stock ones you can gently tap in and only need to really press the last few mm.

now its a few coats of hammerite for everything and away we go

also installed the borg & beck CV joint. the snap ring was way too big from them so ended up just using the oem ones.

nicely coated as well and just waiting reinstall, probably really also work doing the diff seals whilst everything is out. Its actually a sport Sad

right it seems LR are consolidating there parts into a central warehouse so who knows wtf is going on there

currently I am tempted to just put it back together without a parking brake.

then put it all together(probably will next to cut the new discs) when they finally turn up

anyone know if that'll fail an MOT? Its actually a sport Sad

well someone is selling a complete rear end, which has what i need, then I guess i can refurb the other parts and sell them on, including an entire rear subframe

orrr i get a shield from 2009, and cut off the lip so it accepts a 360mm disc Its actually a sport Sad

If you put it back together with the fix I suggested it will work perfectly and pass an MOT (& probably last longer than new backplates 😂)
