Conversion

If you do an Overfinch conversion on your FFRR, is there a certain insurance company that insures these types of vehicles or do you just inform your own company about the 10k cost of conversion.

In the first instance it may be worth speaking to Overfinch. I would assume that if you do a full conversion it will be classified as the Overfinch Model for insurance purposes etc..

I take it this isnt a hypothetical thread raised but "someone" may be getting bored and wanted a change Whistle

And I doubt that very much. Insurance companies are always looking for any minor alterations or modifications that they can use as justification to hike up your premium. Most owners have something that is not standard fit. Even if you told them you'd swapped your alloys for another set of GENUINE LANDROVER alloys, same size etc, they would bump the premium up, probably because the newer alloys are seen as a higher risk of theft by an urchin of some description.

But, most of us don't tell them.

Ken, I think you may have misunderstood the intention of my post.

I was not intimating that you would be deceiving your insurer after all your modifications, far from it, afterall, your car was featured in LRO and that's pretty hard to hide.

What I meant was that your car is the most modified of all the ones on this forum and as such, if anyone's premium had been affected by such work, it would be yours.

Maybe my choice of words was not the best, but I was trying to highlight that insurance companies love to increase your premium if at all possible.

What I should have said was, "I wonder how much Ken's modifications affected his premium when he told his insurance company about them?"
