Just wondered if anyone has supplemented their in car dvd system with a hard drive media player? I get fed up carrying dvd's around for the kids to watch so wanted to load all the rip'd movies I have onto a hard drive media player and link it to av2 on the rear screens. unit must be 12v and have a remote control. I've seen one but not getting replies to email about it. Anyone got any recommendations? "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

Yep I did consider that but as the kids change their minds like the weather I wanted to load up all the movies I have so they can choose either dvd on one channel or hard drive version on channel 2 - the one I have seen has an 80Gb hard drive plus wifi so you can load movies from the home computer without removing the unit from the car - also has a IR remote control and nice simple menu ....would be perfect if I could only get the company to respond. Most upmarket Jeeps have the MyGig system with 30GB of hard drive which is very useful |

Ordered a cyclone unit and will have a play - at that price it doesn't really matter. Solid state might be better than HDisk in the car anyway, you can get a fair few movies on a 32Gb SDHC card. "On first name terms with my local Dealer......now."

I have the RSE - so an easily accesible AV input in the back.

tested the cyclone and it will do what I want very nicely - the only grumble is that it doesn't play MP4 - pain as I have all my films converted for iphone / ipad.....easily sorted though. Quality is fine and menu is easy for the kids to use. Result for £20 |
