How to get the back off the drivers seat 2019 AB

Hi Guys

found plenty of vids of how to get the bah panel off RR drivers seat but cant find any showing my seats. They cant be unique but I don't want to start forcing things and breaking clips etc.

Couple of pics attached, I have removed the 2 torx screws underneath and the panel moves down slightly but stops hard even pulling the bottom out.

Any info greatly received.

I'm guessing, move the seat all the way up and the backrest all the way forward, will this give more room..?? Pete

Thanks H for the suggestion. I've got the seat at max height and max tilt forward. Not short of room to get at it, with the 2 torx screws removed underneath and pulling out the panel from the bottom edge, it will drop about 15mm and stop, and that's it. Given it a good weight pushing down but no go. So don't want to start using undue force and break something. The WM I have isn't for this generation/model of seat.
Still hoping somebody has experience of removing this type of seat panel.

Stop pulling, as the lateral trims need to be removed first!

Here's a very good video from powerfuluk, the removal starts at 2:25:

Thanks Adara. I had watched the vid previously but the lateral trims appear completely different on my seats. I've tried, gently, to tug at them but they don't want to budge. If somebody has a vid or experience otherwise I will 'grip' them - although the seat belt goes through them unlike the powerfuluk vid.

You are right, we have the same seats, I tried to remove those covers and it’s really hard…

Someone on a different forum with a 2021: Figured it out. Two torx screws at bottom. Then the whole seat back just comes off.
He's right, I took pictures of the 2 screws under the seat.

Tried that first off. Removed the 2 torx screws, panel moves down 15mm and that's it. Mine does not drop off.

Just went and unscrewed the 2 torx on mine and the rear does slide until it hits the side trims. I think these need unclipping first in order to allow movement, but when I tried, one clip broke, so I lost the courage to go on...

Ouch! that’s why I didn’t want to pull too hard on those side trims. Need somebody who has removed these before to give a clue what to do - and what NOT to do!

Thanks, definitely a slide down configuration. Just need to sort out how those side trims come off without breaking all the fixings. There's bound to be a correct way rather than me just tugging and swearing!

SORTED

I managed to speak to an Indy and on this model of seat the side trims do NOT need to be removed to get the back panel off.

Thanks Adara for the pics of a removed panel, very helpful and match up to mine.

So the procedure is;
1. remove the 2 torx T20 screws just under the base of the panel. This allows you to pull the base of the panel out and get your hand into the left hand side moulding.

2. Grit your teeth and pull, this should spring out at the left hand side where the retainer is located 1/3rd of the way up

3. Grit your teeth again and repeat on the right hand side. The panel drops down and off.

Hopefully this will help others but a footnote from the Indy, one or both of the spring clips 1/3rd of the way up on each side may break, but he says that the panel goes back in fine! Fortunately mine haven't broken. Very Happy
