2017 L405 4.4 SDV8 front left drive shaft stripped

Has anyone else experienced a front driveshaft where the thread in the fixing nut has been stripped?

According to Land Rover Sytner Coventry mine has this issue which is causing this problem a clonk when pulling away because the nut can't be torqued up correctly. It also can not be undone..

There's nothing in the service record that suggests the drive shaft has ever been removed.

I have not experienced this issue, if it helps, but have had to replace the N/S Drive shaft on my MY17 SDV8 and I’m pretty sure the other side is not long for this world

Yes, if the old nut has been reused, they tend to damage the threads during refitting, or if they nut has been used to pull the shaft back into the hub

New nut should be used every time

Thanks both. Is there likely to be damage to the opposite, "female" groves in the hub if the drive shaft has been constantly moving back and forward?
