2008 Vogue interior door handle cable

Hi all,

the interior door handle cable on our 2008 Vogue has snapped on the front passenger door.

I've got a replacement cable but can't see how to release the old broken one from the latch.

I've searched for info and it seems the entire latch has to be removed from the door which will then allow me to get to the end of the cable. Have I got that right?

Any advice or tips much appreciated.

Thanks!

I've recently replaced mine, you do not need to remove the latch.

I found a youtube video that showed how to do it. It is very easy to replace the cable, just a little difficult to remove the door card and disconnect all the electrics.

Take care when replacing the door card, I am left with a non working door mirror just have not had time to take the card off again.

Good luck

Many thanks for the advice, David.

I just couldn't see how to get the interior handle cable off so disconnected the exterior cable and removed the latch. Once on the floor I could see a large plastic cover that needed to come off. From there it only took a minute to replace the cable and its all back in and working.

Bonus - the window on that door didn't work on the auto up function and now does so I'm going to back away quietly and call that a win Very Happy

Cheers.
