| | 3.6 TDV8 crankshaft position sensor fault | |
 Hi all
First post on the forum after purchasing a high mileage Queen a couple months back.

After fixing the major coolant leak I knowingly bought the car with (aux cooling manifold had cracked and needed replacing) it had been smooth sailing for the past 500 miles.

I drove 100 miles down the m5 yesterday afternoon to Devon, no issues and when I went to start the car on the driveway an hour later I had the restricted performance warning, then a few moments later, engine fault, gearbox fault and then the engine shutdown.

I left it for an hour and it started up again fine, no errors on the dash at all this time.

I scanned with the Gap tool and these were the fault code found.

My guess is the crankshaft position sensor is at fault and needs replacement and the gearbox fault is a secondary code caused by the former.

Have any of you replaced the sensor yourself? I can’t seem to find a ‘how to’ in wiki or online..

I’m without my tools down here but if it’s straightforward and doesn’t require specialist tools, I’ll give it a go, however if anyone knows a recommend land rover specialist in the Torbay area, let me know.

Any troubleshooting tips would be welcome.

 Thanks
 Sam
