Isle Of Man 2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Aintree Green
Suspension

Hi, have come from an L405 AB 4.4TDV8 to a 4.4 petrol L460 - am finding the ride harsher and firmer. Is this normal or is it likely there is an issue. There is noticeable whacks through the seat hitting potholes. I know with the L405 the 5.0sc had the airbags tuned to make it firmer and sportier, but does this apply to petrol L460s too? It has 22 inch wheels which may not help - my old one had 20s with more sidewall but the unsprung mass is similar as i've weighed them with tyres on etc,
thanks in advance. Live on the Isle of Man so not easy to take it to a dealer if this is just the way the car is. Could be seat design too i guess.

The petrol l460 has a slightly different set up to the diesel version although the same set up is available for an extra £4k on the diesel.

When I drove the 2 variants one after the other I noticed the petrol was firmer and more stable when riding the undulating road but not so much as to be classed as hard.

The 22” wheels will also have a big effect - hope this helps. "UNDERSTEER" ----is when you hit the fence with the front of the car.
"OVERSTEER" ------is when you hit the fence with the rear of the car.
"HORSEPOWER" ----is how fast you hit the fence.
"TORQUE" -----------is how far you take the fence with you.

Thanks. Yes the wheels don’t help. The dealer would let me option 20s on an autobiography and couldn’t understand why I didn’t want gangsta rims on a truck designed to go off road. I’ll switch down when I can. Interesting that you noticed the difference between diesel and petrol. Thanks. Am guessing they tweaked it for putting down power rather than torque when cornering maybe ?
