2002 Range Rover Vogue Td6 Zambezi Silver

Is this to expensive

Or the going rate for an auto electrician just to come out and (hopefully) see what the problem is. If not or will be more

£145 just to come out.

vauxhall charge £150 for a diagnostic check.. ... - .- -.

my vauxhall rate might be from a dealer but your bloke has to come to 'you' and diagnose.. all costs time and money to do that.. ... - .- -.

Don't know he just said that's the price for coming out of its a "simple fix" if not it will be more.

I honestly think a lot are taking the p155 with prices. Yes people need to make a living but good god.

2018 Range Rover Autobiography TDV6 Barossa

On my Range Rover, the tailgate was closing fine but it would not allow you to lock the car, saying "Tailgate open"
I assumed it was electrical, phoned the main dealer who said a diagnostic check was £170, from memory.
In it went, they phoned me to say that a catch was mis-aligned, adjusted & working fine. They said it only took half an hour & charged me about £80. I fully expected to pay the £170

That's different this guy told me he is £140 to diagnose a "simple fix" and more if it's more complicated etc.

Key won't turn in the ignition but there's some contraption on the battery called a "battery prog brain".

Yes i did all the other "tricks" to get the key to turn. Also no hazards etc despite a new 900 amp battery.

2011 Range Rover Autobiography TDV8 Orkney Grey

A common problem on cars of that era.
Mine would fail from time to time on my erstwhile TD6.

I believe the fix is a replacement ignition switch.
