I have had several instances of a non-running heater fan after starting the car. Usually it starts by itself after a while, but I have been able to start it by hitting the top of the dashboard also. I have searched this forum and I see that often there is a problem with a resistor when people have non-start heater fan, but is it possible that this resistor will start working when I hit the dasboard? 2006 Supercharged

This is possible..the Heater blower motor resistor can play up.

A update regarding FSR… In june I replaced the FSR with a part bought from a general parts Company in Norway. Two months later the fan stopped working again. I read on this forum that the cheap EBay parts dont last, so I ordered a original Land Rover part from Maltings 4x4. It came in a proper Land Rover box so I guess it is the real thing. But when I removed the «cheap» one it turns out that they both are similar BMW parts. So I just paid 5x more for the same part! I just hope the expensive one will last longer…
