Blind Spot Monitoring When Using a Bike Rack or Towing

Just purchased a tow ball-mounted bike rack, which has a light bar, for my car and I've noticed that when connected the blind spot monitoring system stops working. There is no fault message on the binnacle or fault code logged. The orange led remains on in the door mirrors.

Is this normal behaviour? 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black

Yes, if the towing electrics have been coded to the vehicle then BSM is disabled and also rear fog lights and PDC (I'm speaking from a L405 knowledge, but imagine it would be the same). L405 SV Autobiography LWB SDV8, finished in Aston Martin China Grey by ETO division.

Thanks. I suspected as much but couldn't find a mention of this in the owner's manual. 2012 Vogue 4.4 TDV8 automatic (LHD), Santorini Black
