L322 4.2 Suck or Drain

Hello all,

Just had a new hip fitted and I am told by my physio that getting down onto the floor is a no no, until she says otherwise and shows me how to do it.

So in the meantime I want to do an oil change, so specifically for the 4.2 what do other sc owners recommend. I think I have a choice of vacuum drain manual or pneumatic with a 9L tank or go for an electric pump.
Or should I just pay someone to do it for me?

Thanks

The District Nurse caught me changing a brake pipe on my old classic, a fortnight after a double heart bypass operation. She went ballistic but didn't offer to help me to bleed the brakes.🤨.
I use a 12v pump for the engine oil and it works fine. My L405 has a dedicated pipe but not sure what the L322 arrangement is, maybe a pipe down the dipstick tube? I got the pump from Lidl or Aldi and it came with a small diameter tube for that very purpose. You can probably get something similar off Ebay or the proper suction plunger type kit.
Hope the hip feels better soon.

I just got my local garage to do it, I got all the stuff (oil and filter) they did the work on their ramp (drained) and just charged me 10 or 20 quid - money well spent if you ask me. Geoff
