Rear damper replacement

Hi,

Has anyone changed their rear shock absorber on an L405?
Mine has failed and the car is suffering a horrible vague bouncy rear end because of it.

Have changed plenty of suspension component on other brandes of car but wouldn't like to get elbow deep into the job then realise I need a special tool.

No special tools needed. ๐Ÿ‘very easy job. Last night I lay in bed looking up at the stars in the sky and I thought to myself, where,s the f**king ceiling!!

Hardest part is releasing the rear seat base, to allow removal of the rear seats Thumbs Up

Mikey thanks for the heads up on the rear seat removal, changed the damper today and the longest part of the job was the seat removal.
Changed the rear discs and pads while I was at it and it was all very straight forward.

The old rear damper was totally shot and had no resistance left in it at all!

The difference in driving the car now is night and day.

Seen a few like that. No evidence of any leaks, but absolutely no resistance...

patch of oil on the drive yesterday, relieved it was only a damper.
The wiki has the WM which says you have to empty the airbag suspension, for those that have done it is it realy necessary. letters not necessarily in the right order

Thanks, think I will give it a go.
There are several other threads on this, is there a way to link them all together.
Now all I have to do is figure out where to get a new one from without being screwed. letters not necessarily in the right order
