Strange Air Filter

Changing air filters on friends 2014 Td3.0 RRS one year after I last did so . Noticed that one on passenger side was dirty yet one on drivers side was like new. So I opened the bonnet on my 2014 L405 Td 3.0 and checked those. Exactly the same ! One dirty, passenger side ,after a year yet other one clean (I always replace them in pairs )

Explanation anyone ?

Primary & secondary turbos.

One is used most of the time, the other hardly at all.

It is slightly weird though - particularly to replace in pairs - there's many a time I've thought I should just replace one, but then they are cheap enough.......

Shocked Think yourself lucky:-
I have a mono-turbo version, but most of the service kits have TWO air filters, so I have to throw one away every year, costs me a fortune! Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter Rolling with laughter V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!
