Oil cooler and coolant pipe replacement

I removed the oil cooler from my TDV8 today, with the intention of replacing the gaskets, as I has a small oil leak and a small coolant leak.

2 questions arise...

When I removed the coolant outlet pipe from the oil cooler, it looks like part of the coolant pipe (LR022718) remained on the cooler! I intend to replace this pipe, but I'm sure that I have read (somewhere) that there were some changes in some of the coolant pipes, and for some pipes you then have to also change their neighbours. Does anyone have a link to this information?

My second question is that I was hoping to change the gaskets, but when I separated the two halves of the oil cooler, there is pitting, around 0.5 mm deep, around the coolant passages. I need a new cooler assembly, don't I? I think putting a gasket on and hoping for the best is asking for trouble. Second opinions greatly appreciated!

Thanks.
