2007 L322 3.6 TDV8 Vogue - Stuck in Low Range

Good afternoon all,

I recently purchased an L322 3.6 TDV8 (Vogue) which has unfortunately gotten stuck in Low Range mode. The lights on the selector switch are just flashing red and pressing the highway button seems to do nothing.

I had to have the vehicle recovered as this happened 400 miles from home.

I am getting the error messages 'transmission failure', 'HDC failure' and the terrain control system is inactive too. The low range light flashes green.

Everything else seems ok and the gearbox moves through the gears in Low Range mode just fine.

Could anyone advise on how I might be able to rectify this?

Thank you

try disconnecting the battery for 10 minutes to reset the transfer box ECU, or perform the Fuse 37 trick by temporarily installing a fuse in position 37, then cycling the ignition and gear selector.

If these don't work, check the physical connections and linkage to the transfer box for obstructions or damage, and consider manually moving the transfer box lead screw if safe to do so.

This happened to me on a 4.2 Supercharged and I ended up having to replace the transfer box.

If you have an IID tool, read the fault codes, then look at the live values and see if it's registering a bottom press when you try and change it back to High range. 2002 4.6 Vogue SE - Alveston Red with Lightstone Leather

Thanks, no drinks spilt to my knowledge.

Will try the battery disconnect trick tomorrow.

Where did you get a replacement transfer box from?

Best,
