United Kingdom 2007 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Buckingham Blue
A brief story of (my) L322

Hello all!

Have been posting queries and bugging people on here for over a year now (thanks for all the help!) so thought I'd post a little history of my L322.

Purchased a 4.2 SC in Buckingham Blue off an older gent who had owned for 7 years and used for towing small race cars for track days. 130k odd miles on the clock, bought for Β£5k from memory. Cosmetically not great (weird badge placements, dents, bad paint jobs...) and needed a lot of work, 80% service history. The aim was to use it as my wedding car in Italy in August of this year (1 year after purchase) and get it up to scratch...read on...

Spent quite a lot more than I meant to in the end getting her perfect. I'm ashamed to admit the figure but there we go! She'll be motoring for many more years to come in my ownership I hope. Only 1 major thing stopped me driving in the last year - front air struts went, so those were replaced. Otherwise it's all been preventative. The trip to Italy was flawless - only one broken item - windscreen washer jet hose disconnected. Duct tape fixed it. With all I have done, I suspect and hope she will be reliable in the future, especially with the 4.2 engine. Pretty much every suggestion, oil, fluid, part that has been suggested needs replacing to keep these things going on this forum, I have done.

Anyway:

Here it is shortly after purchase in June 2024...frosted lights, paint marks, manky side steps, peeling headlining, list goes on...

A quick trip to Bellissimoto in South London who restored a lot of the paintwork that was salvageable and massively cleaned up the interior...

Repairing the door cards and blown speakers, replacing the headlight covers (wish I had a driveway...!)

A muddy winter interlude...

Upgraded every single filament bulb in the car to LED, including the indicators which was a LOT of trial and error and IID faffing! There is still a filament bulb in the glovebox but hard to reach...

Repainting various bits as time goes on...

Buying the wedding suit on Bond Street...!

Quick look underneath whilst the flat we got on the day of departure to Italy is sorted...looking good...

Packed and ready to go...off to the Eurotunnel

Two nights in Lyon...looks like an absolute unit here

Valbonnes, south of France dinner stop

Then arrived - 2 weeks in Italy!

Met a fellow Belgian FF in a very remote part of Tuscany...

Wedding day - looking good!

Then the long road home via Switzerland, Germany...

The final figure = 2575 miles (resets at 2k!) and 21.5mpg...not bad for a massive engine, steep Italian (off)roads and 130kph autoroutes!

Here's to many more miles Smile L322 2007 S/C 4.2L (first full fat)

Wow, very comprehensive, fatty is lucky to have you as an owner.... Thumbs Up

Glad you redid the front "Range Rover" emblem, the original spacing was awful and a pet hate of mine.... Bow down Pete

Love a good L322 story …I think I have to get back into RR again with a good one …. That’s some amount of dedicated work you have put in ….well done ! Love the colour !

Saw a nice L322 yesterday here in Oman where I work …had 2 horrendous exhaust tailpieces on it , was going to have a pic but the owner came out and drove away ! Nice sound though ….!
