Canada 2019 Range Rover 5.0 V8 Silicon Silver

Honestly, it depends on what you value most. The L460 is obviously the latest design, new tech, and still under full warranty, so you get peace of mind and better resale value down the line. But the L405 at half the price is hard to ignore; you’re still getting a really capable Range Rover with plenty of comfort and presence, just without the newest features.

If depreciation isn’t a huge concern and you like having the latest kit, go for the L460. But if you’re thinking in terms of value-for-money, the L405 at £50k looks like a very strong deal, especially if it’s in good condition with full history.

United Kingdom 2017 Range Rover Vogue TDV6 Corris Grey

Going slightly OT, but Bill has a good point there: we happily buy cars knowingly taking a massive hit in depreciation, but whinge & cuss at just a paltry grand or so more on our insurance premium, it’s funny how we view these losses so differently, isn’t it? Or doesn’t everyone agree? Whistle V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!

Completely agree, folks seem to turn a blind eye to huge amounts of depreciation then get obsessed with their MPG.

L460 it is then as I can easily get insurance - looking at opposite ends of that spectrum either a PHEV or 4.4L petrol V8 as I make lots of short journeys.

The fuel issue is not one of cost as some have assumed but the frequency of visits to the garage (inconvenient) the same as plugging it in every night (also inconvenient) but as I currently have a diesel I find changing the oil regularly inconvenient but it is only every few months - you just cant win. Geoff
