Front crank oil seal blowing out. | |
Hi all. I have a 2011 4.4 tdv8.
Had the turbos replaced 18 months ago
Egr blanked and mapped out also.
A Few months ago i was getting regular low oil warnings, took it back to the turbo guys who checked their work and said all was ok with the turbo operation.
One day i pulled on to the driveway and oil poured over the now full undertray.
I still using it and set about the strip down.
Front end all stripped i removed the crank pulley to find the crank seal was 10mm out of the casing!
Whilst i had it all apart i replaced all the pulleys, alternator, even a new aircon condenser. A new crankseal fitted cleanly and correctly, new bolt for the pulley and put it all back together.
I also replaced the small rubber bung inside the oil filter housing as i saw it was missing.
Engine all buttoned up i started the car and it sounded great, smooth idle, no smoke and no leaks.
Reversed off the drive coasted down the hill i live on turned around and accelerated back up to the house pulled on the driveway and oil was pouring onto the driveway again!!
I mean pouring not a drip.
I can only assume the crank oil seal has blown out again.
Im so fed up after all that work.
So i ask if anyone has heard of this happening before and what is the cause?
Pressure is obviously building up internally but I can't think what else to look for to fix it?
Please help if you have any experience in this issue, many thanks.
