United Kingdom 2019 Range Rover Autobiography SDV6 Santorini Black
No sound/audio for first 30 seconds after starting ignition

I have a 2019 L405 UK Autobiography.

If I adjust the volume after starting my engine, the slider comes up, I think it’s orange, but it’s the speech volume icon. The radio displays as if it’s playing, or CarPlay if that was playing music, but no sound. After about 30 seconds the sound starts playing.

During that period or any other period the steering wheel speech button works fine (so not stuck down).

Any ideas on how to solve this? I’d appreciate it. 2019 Range Rover Autobiography 3.0 SDV6

Infotainment system starts to play up on mine when battery voltage is getting low.
Charge the battery would be the first step for me, with my trusty Ctek. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

I would have thought that too, but I literally had a new battery fitted a couple of weeks ago. And only when that was fitted did I realise how bad my old one was (the electric side steps would sometimes get stuck in or out, I just assumed they are flakey, but that went away and they are solid reliable since the replacement). Thanks for the thought though! 2019 Range Rover Autobiography 3.0 SDV6

I don’t know what DTCs are, but there’s no messages on the dashboard, if it relates to that?

It’s been happening for a few months, I’ve only had the car for about six months though. 2019 Range Rover Autobiography 3.0 SDV6

Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs) are standardised codes used by a vehicle's onboard computer system to identify and report problems. When something goes wrong - like a misfire, sensor failure, or emissions issue etc etc - the system stores a code, some times it triggers a dash warning light but many minor issues do not.
If you get a OBD2 tool make sure it not only is able to read DTC but can erase/clear them.
I use this https://www.autelstore.co.uk/wholesale/aut...anner.html

its a simple and easy tool for a basic DIYer and more, but there are many other makes etc do a search its been discussed many times on here.

There is a software update which may concern your vehicle. https://www.fullfatrr.com/gallery/albums/u...0TOPIx.pdf

I did have an issue years back when I lost all sound all the time! It was still under warranty then, the fix was above bulletin software update and temporary remove fuse link FL16 for 5 secs then re-install.
A year later it happened again so I reset the FL16 myself and so far never happened again.

I would put up with the 30s wait if I was you, as so far its always come back on. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue
