Fitting Apple CarPlay to a Pre 2016 405

Hi, has anybody any experience of fitting Apple CarPlay using the existing screen in a 2012 - 2015 L405?

If so:
How easy was it?
Did you DIY fit it?
Apart from losing the LR’s Satnav in favour of Apple Maps and/or Waze, did everything else work ok?
Which brand did you go for?
Who supplied it?
How much did it cost?
