I recently purchased an L405 5.0.

From 0-25mph there is a whine which increases with road speed but not engine speed etc. Land Rover Assistance came to look at it and drove it about a mile all told. On the report he has said a suspected problem with the gearbox in 1st and 2nd. I think its actually after the gearbox being transfer box or diff.

It was then recovered back to the supplying main dealer at the moment but they say they can't replicate the noise.

Has anyone got any ideas what it could be so I can try and point them in the right direction?

The car has done 82k and has a full Land Rover service history and is under Warranty, including the transfer box fluid change at 60k. 2005 E60 M5
