Strange Noise

Strange Noise

Hi I have a strange sound coming from what sounds like the front of my 2017 L405, initially I thought is was a possible front baring sound but having jacked the car up and checking the front wheels for play there was no movement.
Front and rear diffs have recently had the oil changed so don’t think it’s coming from there. The sound is like a droning sound. I do have a recording of the sound but can not attach it to this thread.

Hi quavey it is noticeable at speed from 50mph then it remains constant until the speed drops.
There is no vibration coming through the steering wheel only this sound.
Not if this has a barring on the sound but I had been driving on some loose surfaces prior to this.
The driving characteristics of vehicle seem to be un affected.

A droning noise at speed could be from your tyres. Easy to pin down as that'd vary tone depending on the road surface. Maybe your pressure is low? Tread cut? Excessively worn?

Thanks Baz I’m doing the brakes this weekend so I have a look at tires when I get them off and I’ll rotate them.
