I purchased a 21MY key (see other FFRR thread) and programmed to my 2010 with GAP tool. I only had 1 original key. Vehicle/GAP says there are 3 keys programmed to my car now. It’s on my to do list to see if I can delete the key that I don’t actually possess- but am happy to leave that can of worms for now. 2010 Supercharged |

That's good to know. My car only came with one key and I now have an new OEM "fat" key arriving by mail. But, I may want an extra spare and I'm thinking of the newer style keys. I know a fellow member offers the service to upgrade your old keys, but if it's possible to program the new keys directly with the GAP tool, I may want to go that route.

After a few mishaps with the spare key that was in the new format, in that I've managed to crack the case badly I've had to go back to my lozenge one which does seems to take the abuse without falling apart much better, still it did last a little over a year.

I can upgrade the brick 5 button key fob to the mid lozenge style or the very latest style. Fully backwards compatible if you ever want to go back.
