Antitheft Wheel Nuts

Was surprised to learn that JLR will no longer sell replacement replacement sockets to remove security wheel nuts for vehicles made after 2020.

Anyone know how I can identify what I have and where to source a replacement socket as I can’t justify £144 for a new set?

I can’t think of the last time I heard of alloys getting stolen … particularly stock ones.

But realistically , if you have a picture of it, a lot of eBay sites and similar will sell sockets to match. I had to do this for my beemer … and there were about 20 different sockets. Picked the matching one and it worked perfectly. A lot of the wheel nuts appear to have a limited number of designs. V8 or else ...

If they're the ones that expand as they rust, throw them away once you get them out and replace them with normal nuts.

Are you sure you've lost the original socket ?

A few people have been surprised to know where it's kept in the boot.

As above though, I just removed mine & replaced with regular nuts. Locking nuts only ever seem to inconvenience the legitimate owner. Anyone capable of jacking up a FFRR to steal the wheels will have no problem removing locking nuts.....

The car has been through a bodywork repair place and an auction site.

Where is it supposed to be located as it’s not in all the usual places ive found them in before.

It should be in the boot near the spare wheel - on the left as you face the front of the car, lift the tray to access the spare and it should be about half way on the left side.

Yeah, nothing there.

I assumed the repair shop it last visited 'borrowed' it.
