2006 Range Rover Supercharged 4.2 SC V8 Santorini Black
2017 L405 infotainment system

Can someone knowledgeable help me out?

Our L322 has died. I am now looking at L405s, specifically the 2017 single screen cars. These two images appear on a dealer’s website for a car that has caught my eye

This looks a bit, well, primitive and unlike screenshots I have seen elsewhere on line. I can’t find anything, for example, that shows that little mountains icon in the shots. Is there a low grade version of the infotainment system that this car has? Oddly it seems to have the Meridian Signature sound system with ceiling speakers and seatback speakers. I had been under the impression that by late 2017 (the car is an SE 67 plate) wired CarPlay was standard, but I am now wondering whether this car has that.

If you can possibly stretch to the facelift 2018+ then you will have the Duo screens and better security package with Ultra wide band security among other things. Do a search on here there are many threads about this. 2018 SE SDV8 4.4 Byron Blue

Thanks both. I’ve managed to establish that the centre console contains two usb ports, a SIM card port and an HDMI port, so I think that means it has the hardware for CarPlay even if the software may not have been updated.

I’m a bit old fashioned so old positively prefer the dials to having a second screen. Each to their own… Range Rover 4.2 SC (RIP)

My March 2017 looks the same and has wired Carplay, so this one must have it.
I’ll post a few pics later today. Thumbs Up

Here you go:

You can easily add wireless carplay with this little gadget:

Perfect - thanks. That is the same set of sockets that the car I’m off to see has, so if it can’t do wired CarPlay it is likely (AIUI) to be down to the ICE software not having been updated. Range Rover 4.2 SC (RIP)

OK, when you view, just go into the All Settings Menu and see if it has S22A or not.
It may just need the SOTA update. Thumbs Up V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong!
