my son has just fitted 285 45 22 tyres onto his L405 and his FF and they do 'fit' the wheel arches much better than my standard size 275 40 22 tyres which when i look at them seem to be lost in them arches....

he also reports that the ride comfort has improved but he has to keep his eye on the speedo as it now reads true mph..

I am a fan of this size tyre and run both summer and winters in it. They ride is much improved and I love the look of the ‘full arches’. And despite some claims they don’t fit, I am yet to experience any rubbing, even on full lock in access mode. It’s close but doesn’t touch.

i remember your posts about extra comfort with these tyres, they certainly suit the L405.. ... - .- -.

And now probably 10k miles or more still using them and remain a fan.

The 275/40R22 just look and feel far too ‘sporty’ for a full fat in my view. I was trying to find a happy balance between larger alloys but enough sidewall to give a comfortable ride and also protect from damage by potholes etc.

As these are a common fit on L460/L461 there are plenty of tyres to choose from and of course, LR specific marked ones too. My Michelins are LR specific but the Contis I run in the summer are not. Both are great tyres in this size though.
