I've got a 4.4 diesel L405 with blown turbos. My local indie has quoted about 6500 quid to repair

i think it's harder on the 405 than the 322, right?

What other companies should i try to get a quote from? I can have the car transported anywhere in the UK

What makes you think both turbo's have blown?

Its what my indie has diagnosed

Car broke down, no performance, red triangle on dash. Wont accelerate past about 5mph. Intercooler is full of oil

In fact 2 indies have diagnosed. One near where it broke down, and now my local where i took it for a second opinion

Had it had issues before the red triangle? Have you had to keep topping up the oil?

The oil cooler was replaced because it was leaking a few months before it broke down

no other engine issues

I’m putting up a thread on turbo replacement - Left and Right Hand Turbo Replacement - had been quoted 24 hours labour - they would do it engine out. Also rough estimate 16 hours just doing the turbos in situ. Doing it with a mechanic for the first time - we are probably 14 hours in and starting the final fitting on the turbos before doing the starter, generator and fan assembly.
