It probably depends on your budget to a certain extent. You'll likely pay at least £20k for a nice, low mileage, well serviced car. Much less than that and you could be buying a heap of trouble.

I was in the same boat last year but my 2011 Vogue was a keeper, fault-free, reliable and a good all round workhorse.

It will need a thorough check underneath for rot, check especially ACE pipes have been done, they rot and are an expensive PITA to do. Seems a bit expensive for the year. V6 Vogue - “Less is More” - less to go wrong! |

Indeed been looking on-line and yes there are a lot out there cheaper at some really shady looking car lots (they may be honest traders of course just with lower overheads) but personally if buying a prestige and technology heavy car I would rather pay a bit over the odds knowing I'd got some comeback and a warranty that's actually worth the paper its written on, but that's just me...

If you are spending that much I would try for a newer car. Ideally an MY2017 as the upgrade in the infotainment screen is huge. With the 4.4's the earlier ones are about £760 for VED, dropping to £430 when they became Euro 6 with adblue. After 1st April 2017 they are currently £195 due to the change in the rules.

As Gremlin said, that is waaaaaaay too much for a 2013. You should be looking at 2017 for that money (2017 it got the upgraded info screen - not the big one, just the symbols on the bottom of the screen instead of on the side).

I’d echo that the price appears over the odds for a 2013 even from a premium dealer - unless it’s very well optioned with very low mileage / owners & impeccable history but even then, sounds pricey.

As far as i can tell the 2017 hardware is the same or very similar as the 2018 just the screen is larger etc. It still feels pretty modem on my car and usage appears the same as dads 2018. Hugely better than the previous 2013-16 screen 2005 E60 M5 2017 L405 5.0 AB 2024 i7 xDrive60 -------- 2006 (MY07) L322 4.2 S/C, 2004 L322 4.4 Vogue, 2002 L322 4.4 HSE, 2006 (MY07) L322 S/C , 2001 P38 Vogue, 1999 P38 4.6 HSE. |
