Gents,
I came across some L405 technical documents and it says that earlier Euro5 cars had the 8HP70 gearbox, that was later upgraded to 8HP76, along with other minor changes. SDV8 in particular was also updated from 700nm to 740nm.
Per Google - "The ZF 8HP76 is a newer, more advanced version of the 8HP70, featuring updated materials, design enhancements, and different physical connections like oil cooler ports and bellhousing patterns for newer BMWs. Key upgrades in the 8HP76 include using 7075 aluminum, heat-treated and hard-anodized surfaces, and internal improvements for enhanced clutch cooling, oil evacuation, and clutch pack area, all leading to improved strength and performance. While the 8HP70 is a capable transmission, the 8HP76 represents a generational upgrade with physical and internal differences that make them incompatible without modification. "
Now, i am finding mixed information about this newer gearbox, and if it was added for Euro6 in late 2015, or with the 2018 facelift.
Any comments?
