United Kingdom 2014 Range Rover Autobiography SDV8 Santorini Black
Tell me I'm not the only one....!

When I buy a new (to me) car, I want it to be right - cosmetically and mechanically.

I got my 2014 back in May, with just 42,000 miles on the clock and full annual history from JLR or a specialist. It didn't need much apart from a wheel refurbishment and new discs, but then the fettling began...

£5.00 Build Sheet

£4.99 Key Shell
£9.98 Wiper Blade Rear

£115.00 Autoglass screen excess
£190.00 Sunroof drain repair
£90.00 Diagnostic Check

"My Name's John and I think I need help!" Very Happy

So far, I've managed to spend £4,320 in my pursuit of perfection! Obviously, Insurance, Fuel and Road Tax are on top of that! I'm glad I found a good one to start with!

It's no wonder my mates queue up to buy my cars when I'm finished with them!

Yeah, I gave up keeping tabs on what I spend on my as it would no doubt tilt into the 'not economically viable' column before too long! Rolling with laughter _______________________________________________

It only looks bad because you're being to broad with your categorisation...

If you break down the expenses into groups then you won't find any one category is too high Wink

For example. Re-categorise the following under the heading 'Golf':

    £8.49 Micro Umbrella - Branded
    £40.00 Golf Umbrella - Branded
£95.00 Leather straps for Golf Umbrella

Et voila; you've just reduced your total by £143.49.

Just repeat as required until you're comfortable with the total figures for each group.

It's like magic!

You're definitely not the only one.......... Shocked

I had my first FFRR nearly 10 years ago and stopped counting the cost very soon thereafter... Rolling with laughter

Now I've persuaded SWMBO into a Disco Sport I've doubled the need to find a magic money tree. Whistle 2021 D350 Fifty Edition - Carpathian Grey

But surely, lots of invoices (appropriately hidden from SWMBO) are great for the provenance of a vehicle? (Ovbs, one is not talking about (strictly necessary) tools & equipment purchases, which have to be diluted through the purchasing system in a discrete way, which we all understand of course. Whistle

Some great advice here guys - thank you. I especially like 'farkle categorization' to dilute the overall cost Very Happy

The car came with a great stack of provenance paperwork, so I'll be needing a second box file if this craziness continues!
