Is this a good deal?

http://www2.autotrader.co.uk/classified/ad...ogcode=emf

The things that put me off is the current owner is a bit of a big bloke who slides in and out of the car so has worn the leather right through to the foam (on the side of the bolster). The leather on the rear door (driver's side) is blistering from, what I am guessing, is dog saliva. Spoke to one dealer who suggested neither of these is repairable??? The parcel shelf has seen better days with most of the paint worn off. It's in need of an oil service and the tyres have about 3mm on them all round. Other than that, the car drives nicely.

What are your thoughts? Am I being too picky to walk away? Paul

Granted it's a good price for a TDV8 full spec'd SE, but unless you can live with the faults which somehow i don't think you will.

Only thing that concerns me is the really high mileage on a 2 year old car ...... Shocked what mileage would you do in it, How long would you keep it , And residual value with even higher mileage

Afraid if it was me i would say No Thanks ............. The seller point's out that it's in immaculate condition , I take it he's not been to Specsavers then.

thanks lads

My annual mileage at the moment is around 3 - 6k per year. If work posts me with another client then that might increase but gut feeling says they won't. I was tempted to offer 26k but my wife reminded me of the broken windows theory plus I figured he would reject it; towards the e nd of the conversation he brought out the Glass guide valuation for his car. Suggests to me he is not willing to come down on price.

The guy had a boot tray. Any ideas how much they are worth? Paul

Was it the plastic boot tray?

I got one free with mine from the Dealer, I think it was about £100 to buy. Discovery 4 HSE
